A Sneaky Blinder and something to make you smile.

With all this doom and gloom fake news and fake footballers that we have to endure these days, I saw something the other day that I guarantee will put a smile on your face.

But before that...

I reckon we have a bit of a Sneaky Blinder up at Mussleburgh tomorrow if you're interested.

Best odds Racing Post at time of mail.

Regarding your question about viruses in the yards, I think it should be made public asap in the racing press.

I'm sure we all use racing post, racinguk, at the races...etc etc for our racing news.

Keep up the great info.

Many thanks

Linda.

Hi Paul

Yes I think we should know about any yard with a virus as it spreads so quickly amongst other inmates and effects their performance big time.

Also, we should know when a horse is running whilst in foal, as these tend to runa lot better due to hormone changes.

Cheers Tom

I definately think it should be made public...as soon as it breaks out.

Thank you Paul...for all the good info.

Malcolm

Definately should be made public

Paul

I am with you 100%

If a yard has a virus, it should be a requirement that it has to be posted on a major thoroughbred site.

No question about it.

Rigambler.

Paul

I believe the public should be informed of any virus as I believe trainers should be obligated to declare when a horse has had breathing correction.

Thanks for the tips

Regards

David

A virus in the yard/stables should be made public immediately.

Kenneth

Racing should be made aware

John

I am of the opinion that trainers have a duty of care to their clients

not the public or more specific punters.

Of course it should be disclosed asap.

It would reduce the doubt and speculation of poor form.

David.

So, what do you think.

It's usually a long time after that the general public find out.

Do you think that's how it should be? Or not?

I think all the comments have covered the subject and yes the racing public should be made aware

Any information about changes to a yard or a horse should be made public immediately. It's a hard enough game without having to bet without the correct information. Wind ops are another one. How many times have you heard the trainer say his horse has had a wind op after it has just romped home.

Absolutely should be made public. It would only increase trainers reputations. However i guess along with things like sectional timing, actual weight declarations of the horses themselves before a race, etc, it'll be sometime before racing is dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st century in this country!

    Hi Paul,
There is alot of imformation THAT should be reported to the general public, virouses, gelding, mares in foal, breathing operations the list could go on, but is this imfomation overload or vital to make an informed choice. No buisness I know of would survive without knowing all the facts.
I'll lay you 20/1 that the bookies go to great lengths and even expence to find out all of the above and much more beside before opening a book on any race. I'll go as far as saying they would oppose any freedom of more information just to keep the "mug punter" population healthy and keep their profits up.

Paul a friend of mine has a horse with a well known but lesser ranked trainer. The horse only moved to the yard earlier this year having had some success with the previous, now retired trainer, winning 3 race s. Since the move the horse has run dreadfully as have many of the other horses in the yard. All have scoped clean but some seem to have a wind problem. It appears that new gravel was laid on annumber of paths around the stable recently ,this has now been removed and the horses are running much better with a few winners. Can this be considered a virus?

I think trainers should be made to publicly declare their stables contain a virus, if only for the horses in which it competes against may contract said "Virus".

But this does this mean it has to be medically diagnosed by a vet & possibly means red-tape.
