March is fast approaching and for racehorse fans, it means one thing…Cheltenham.
The greatest show on Turf.
The world and his dog will be homing in and analysing runners and riders, searching for which trainers do well, which trainers don’t do so well, stand out stats and trends, everyone looking at the same races with different eyes in many different ways, and different opinions plastered all over the tv, newspapers, and the internet.
A betting frenzy like no other for the whole festival, Cheltenham does seem to take over everything else, in fact, many people would think that Cheltenham is all that is happening in March, but…it isn’t.
While the betting world has eyes for Cheltenham, it may be a good idea to just take a glance in a different direction.
Have a look while most others are distracted and swept away with Cheltenham fever.
Let’s have a look at how it seems to be that some stables take advantage and do very well by NOT going to Cheltenham.
The figures are for eachway bets, so, I search for trainers with a high place strike rate.
We don’t let odds of up to 33/1 put us off, in fact, short odds on a horse puts us off.
One National Hunt trainer I will be looking out for in March, Not at Cheltenham.
The only other criteria will be Handicap Hurdles (keeps it simple)
From 2012 to 2015 in the month of March his figures read.
34 runs...6 wins...17.65% win strike...Profit+31.00...
E/W Strike rate 57.58%...Eachway Profit+66.21
Like I say, it's the E/W strike rate that interests me.
If you think more of this type of information can help you in your betting, then just let me know, as I have my eye on other trainers for March.
Email me at info@broadwaybets.com or leave a comment down below and let me know what you think.
This is also my type of thing
I will keep my eyes peeled for what interesting stats you may find
Shane

Excellent. Just the sort of info that gives a different angle to looking for value.
Sound's a good idea
VERY USEFUL MICRO SYSTEM
Yes I like this type of info.
I see C Down 2 placed and 1 winner from 3 in last 14 days.
Hi I think that is a brilliant idea the more you can pass on the better for all of us thank you . Leslie .
Yes please
One week in March is dominated by Cheltenham and rightly so. Looking outside the Box and Any Betting Angles that produce profit are always welcome. Thanks for the Research and keep them coming.
Anything you have identified as being worthwhile has to be taken seriously. Be good to know what other trainers you have been watching.
a very interesting angle that could be profitable
Certainly interested
Good idea, Paul.
Your information and views are always worth hearing, so please continue to do your excellent research.
Very interesting
Yes great idea!
This is my way of working too, so I would be interested in more.
This was my thinking exactly!
Could save me a lot of work finding the best trainers to check out their runners,
Could never see the point in trying to pick the winner of a 25 runner race with every horse pretty even and all trying their best a la Cheltenham - lets look elsewhere.
I very much like this kind of information. I had something similar at Lingfield on Saturday, but with a horse. The horse in question was Pharoh Jake, his record since 2009 show that he had never won
at the track but had a 70% place strike rate there when running over Saturday's class and distance. I backed him on Betfair's place market and he came second at 25/1
Yeah Paul you're an original thinker and I'm interested in your STATS. You could be on to a winning idea hopefully.
sounds good to me
This sort of information is always great to have at the ready. Good work Paul, keep it coming please.
That sort of info sounds good to me.
I have had good results away from chelt during the festival days I'm all for it
Cheltenham festival is regarded as a good betting period for punters because of the quality of the races if you can find winner .To be able to find good value at other venues would be great.
No interest whatsoever
Good angle, I've never been a great fan of festivals as they often seem to be bookended by poorer quality racing! I'm interested in anything from 1.7 to about 3.0 on the exchange place markets...
count me in!
Yes Paul, that's also my style of betting so would be very interested.
good idea.
with all eyes on Cheltenham there must be value to be had elsewhere.
Very interesting approach and my kind of thing too
Hi Paul
Good call. This type of thinking could easily slip under the radar. I would definitely like to hear more. Thanks for all your help.
Bill
Yes this could be very interested
Always up to listening to what could increase my bank balance. Keep it coming Paul.
Great stuff Paul. Love going against the crowd, keep it coming please.
I always remember the late trainer Arthur Stephenson, on being asked why he was at a minor meeting up north when he had runners at a big southern meeting, saying "little fish are just as sweet".
Hey, you talk, I'll listen.
You have been pretty sharp.
Why wouldn't I listen.
I try to hit the trifectas using your place pick as the key.
Always happy look at alternatives to Cheltenham
Would be interested to know more.
Good info always welcome, keep a step ahead of bookies
Yes please, sounds interesting.
Sounds like a good micro system to add to portfolio.

Go for it mate. Followed you for quite a while now with a fair bit of success.
we are all in this to make a few bob,so any profitable angles are welcome thanks,
stats. can produce info. that people would never consider a hidden treasure.
Sure , sounds interesting the e/w bets. Let us hit the bookies where they least expect. Cheers
My old dad used this system for years maintaining that it made for easier study than the complex variables of Irish v English form at Chelt. Another one of his methods was "false favorites" Two in
the race lump on the outsider ew
Sounds like a system with potential, I'm in. Let's smash the bookies
these types of angles always interest me too!
Very interested. Please keep me informed. Love a good price
Great bets when they come off gives a good chance of a unexpected win without throwing everything on a Willie Mullins short price hot pot with no value if it wins and costs a bomb if not.Just read
the follow up PDF download really enjoy looking through your stats for unsung trainers not at the festival ta very much.
Yes please
