Are Your Bets Informed, Or Are You A Gambler?

My name is Paul Broadway.

I would like to tell you a little bit about my journey from frustration with losing bets on the horses, to being confident and more profitable.

First of all let me ask you something…….How many times have you backed a fancied jumps runner only to see it pull up after a couple of fences or so ?

How about a top jockey riding for a top trainer on the favourite only to see it struggle to get home.

How many times have you screwed up your betting slip and thrown it in the direction of a bin in the bookies with 3 or 4 fences left to jump,  or at least a furlong left to go in a flat race ?

How many times have you been left confused when you’re selecting horses with good recent form and 1st, 2nd, and 3rds by their name, only to see horses romp home with a load of duck eggs next to them, yes, 000000.

What do you do next?

You blame the horse, you blame the jockey, you blame the trainer, you blame the bookie, in fact, it’s everything else except poor judgement on your part because, you studied the form in the paper, and they had tipped it in the paper, so, it’s their fault.

But, best of all (and this one does make me laugh), “I knew it, I knew it, I knew that would happen, I told you that would happen” when your selection fades away or falls, as you turn to the chap next to you, and nine times out of ten he’s nodding in agreement.

The list is endless, if you recognise and agree with the above, do not despair, it happened to me for years, it has happened to all of us, and it will keep happening to most punters every day.
So, what has changed for me, and how did I start to turn my betting around?

Firstly let me tell you what it was not.

I was not at a race meeting and down on my luck losing all my money, when I bumped into a high rolling pro gambler who gave me life changing information on how to go about betting.

I did not happen to meet a betting guru with some magic formula that picks winners after winners and never fails.

It was……drum roll please…….The Internet.

Yes, I remember the days before the internet and still wonder how the human race ever managed to survive without it, but, as I slowly got to grasp with it all, I started to educate myself by reading what successful people were doing differently within their betting, what was their way of thinking, how did they look at races, what they thought about and what information was important or unimportant.

What I found was that they all did research.

They are aware of the key attributes that horses have to win certain races, they are aware of which horses are suited to conditions and race type, distances, tracks, and when horses are ready to run a big race, hence the duck eggs 000000 winning.

Also, the attitude they have to their betting, long term profits is the aim.

They do not place bets in a scatter gun approach, certain type of races are targeted, they are safe in the knowledge that when they get a losing bet, their winning bets will far outweigh the losses and therefore, make profit long term. It’s a no brainer really, that obviously, I had to change something about the way I was betting, but, where do I start, how do I start, what do I look for ?

What I needed was a starting point, everybody needs a starting point, and I know from experience that a starting point can sometimes be the hardest thing to find.

So, for the last couple of years I have been doing hours, and hours, and hours of research, along the way I found methods/systems, but still I was losing money and certainly not making consistent profit.

I did find out that not all systems are the same, there are a lot of systems out there, some are very good and excellent value for money and make consistent profits, there are some some ok borderline ones that usually have massive hype written about them to make them look and sound better, and then the ones which are complete garbage and just out there to rob people of their hard earned cash by some slimy snake oiled shyster who is here today and gone tomorrow.

So, to cut a long story short I have a system, actually, I have a couple of systems.

So now, when I see a horses form that reads 000000 I don’t just dismiss it, I look at it more closely, is the form of the horse because it’s a donkey with 3 legs or,  has it been running in better quality races against better quality horses, and coming down a level in race quality, against lesser talented horses, it may make you think twice about it.

What about the red hot odds-on favourite that’s a nailed on cert with form of 1111 next to its name, were the horses it beat previously as good as the quality of its rivals today? This type of information may seem obvious to some, but, it’s certainly not to most, if that snippet of information helps you, then great, at least it’s a starting point for you, it definately was for me.

For a any system/method to work it has to be built on sound solid reasoning, there has to be logic behind it, then, research, research, research, and yes, it can be very frustrating along the way, but also very rewarding when you come up with information that surprises even the most experienced in the game, and can be put together in a simple time efficient way that anyone could understand and follow.
