Has anyone experienced this problem like Graham?
I received these emails on Thursday from Graham, and I asked Graham if I could show you the emails as you might have an answer, a theory, some advice or just comment.
Like Graham say’s, it will be interesting to hear the experiences of others.
The first email said...
Just a quick message to ask if you are finding the online bookmakers are now restricting your deposits? I spent over 2k with Coral in March then put 900 in, which I lost in April, tried to deposit again and they said you have reached your deposit limit of £100, which basically gives me no chance to recover the 3k I have lost. This is like theft and punters should not be tolerating this. Do you have any experience of this?
Kind regards
Graham.
Then he wrote…
Yes, no problem.
I have used Betfair for a number of years and have been a fairly high stakes player but they have dropped me to 1k a month unless I send all sorts of documentation, which I am not prepared to do. I feel it's a violation and my history with these companies should be enough on its own. In Ladbrokes and Coral shops I have spent a small fortune over the years and, as I said earlier, they have suddenly set my limit at £100 without warning or negotiation. I put 2 lots of £200 into a new account, Betvictor, then they too stopped me playing until I send documents. To me, this is taking control freakery to a whole new level.
It will be interesting to hear the experiences of others.
Many thanks.
Graham.
Obviously they don’t like something because Graham finished off with…
Just to add.....I have been a VIP customer with Betfair for a long time and would frequently receive decent bonuses and free bets and was often invited to hospitality events at Ascot and Chester, amongst others. Now I am lucky to receive a 50p bonus. I only started opening these online accounts after Betfair reduced my deposit limit but one after the other they have become worse. It's getting to the stage where I won't be able to put a bet on soon, I feel like the world has gone mad...............yet I still see Betfair matching 8 million on top football matches.
Regards
Graham.
Have you any thoughts or have you heard of any similar experience from someone you know?
Please feel free to email me, or better still, leave a comment down below as I think Graham would appreciate any feedback.
Just a thought, will Betfair's non UK based customers in the Far east etc be subject to the same regulations? Surely if so their model is unsustainable. Does the fact that betfair are owned by PP make a difference?
Is it the Government forcing firms to ask for ID ??
I thought the whole advantage of Betfair EXCHANGE is there's no restrictions as it's not the Bookmaker's own money ? But Bookies don't like losing their OWN money !
I haven't been in a Bookies for years, but is there anything to stop anyone going in, placing a bet and collect any winnings ??
Lawrence.... I can honestly say that since I started betting I have never been banned or restricted in 50 years of betting. But what i do is withdraw as often as I can and don't over deposit too. much.
I can honestly say that in my 50 years of betting , I have never been banned or restricted to how much I deposited or how much I've won. I don't know if this keeps me under the radar or not, but I withdraw whenever I can and don't over deposit just keep my bank in to a savings account, just for that purpose
